The positive ( highly creative problem solver, ambitious, industrious, love risk, etc.) and negative or unbalanced traits ( procrastination, distractibility, addiction, etc) that are mentioned there merge nicely with an area of disease that has gotten a lot of news, controversy and research in the last ten years.

Attention Deficit Disorder - ADD expert Dr. Ned Hallowell ( Hallowell Centers ) has been studying how the "positive" traits of ADD seem to occur in almost all successful entrepreneurs. In fact he has concluded that they succeeded because of the special qualities that go hand in hand with the challenges of ADD.

That's quite a reframe from the current mainstream thinking that ADD/ ADHD is an affliction and that's all. Dr Hallowell has written a number of books about ADD and has a number of treatment centers.

To quote: "ADD is a highly misleading description of an intriguing kind of mind. Original, charismatic, energetic, often brilliant, people with ADD have extraordinary talents and gifts embedded in their highly charged but easily distracted minds."
